Motorola Co-op Software Engineer Job Description

 

The co-op will actively participate in the development and maintenance
of the source code for the Motorola Broadband Services Router (BSR)
product line

. During their time at Motorola co-ops will be exposed to the entire
software product development life cycle. Co-op software engineers will
be assigned tasks that primarily include implementing new software
features, enhancing existing software features, fixing software defects,
and testing software changes. Co-ops will also use lab equipment to
assist in the developing and debugging of software. Co-op software
engineers will work closely with other members of the Software, Hardware
and Customer Support teams to complete their assigned projects. Co-ops
who perform exceptionally well may be offered the opportunity to travel
to domestic and international customer locations. The co-op will be
exposed to and learn skills in some or all of the following
technologies: cable modems, cable modem termination systems, hybrid
fiber optic coaxial networks, Ethernet, routers and switches, the DOCSIS
protocol, the TCP/IP protocol suite, Voice over IP, C/C++, PowerPC
assembly, ClearCase, ClearQuest, VxWorks and INTEGRITY, and Klocwork.

 

Prerequisite Skills:

 

*	Some experience in C/C++ or other high level programming
language
*	Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
*	Effective written and verbal communication skills

 

Please note that there is no public transportation to our facility in
Marlborough, MA. Co-op candidates are required to have their own
transportation to and from the facility.
