---------------------------
The Natick Soldier RDEC (US Army) is seeking an undergraduate or
graduate level computer science (or other relevant) major who is
familiar with developing maps and mild AI scripting with Unreal
Tournament. The applicant should be willing to hold a full-time position
through the summer months, hourly pay with full benefits, and be willing
to work on a project that is oriented towards military applications. The
specific work to be performed includes: building and modifying maps
(environments, some graphic design needed), developing and testing
artificial intelligence scripting to make avatars behave in controlled
ways at specified times and places. The chosen applicant would work with
a friendly team of Ph.D. cognitive scientists interested in using gaming
technology in a controlled way to test principles of attention, memory,
and decision making. There are significant opportunities for future
employment, great access to learn about and use new technologies (e.g.,
heads-up displays, infrared tracking systems, eye tracking, wearable
computing, etc), and get exposure to current research. Salary is
negotiable and based on experience and demonstrated expertise with the
necessary job duties. To express interest, email resume and a brief
paragraph about your experience in this area to: Tad T. Brunye, Ph.D.,
email: thaddeus.brunye at us.army.mil
