Database Developer
Job Description - External:
Individual will leverage proven on-the-job skills to provide
applications development and systems engineering leadership for on-shore
and off-shore development. Development responsibilities include
development and support of n-tiered, web applications using OOAD, Java
J2SE and J2EE, RDBMS expertise, and third-party product integration.
The position requires the individual to work with Business Analysts to
provide development/technical services in connection with enhancement
requests and projects. Provide daily legacy and current systems support
by troubleshooting reported problems, developing, documenting and
implementing solutions.
Responsible for creation of analysis documents, white papers, Functional
and Detailed Design Documents, and information transfer. Responsible for
coordination with various individuals and groups including Software
Project Management, Software Configuration Management, Customer Support,
and members of development including both internal and external
contractors on a timely basis.
Experience - External:
This person should have proven on-the-job design, development, and
delivery of systems in a complex, high-stakes environment, including
knowledge of and expertise in
' OOAD with UML experience
' Web Development (SOAP, UDDI, WSDL, XML, Java, JSP, HTML, Flash)
' Java J2SE and J2EE experience with one or more application servers
' C/C++
' RDBMS Development and Design (Oracle, SQLServer, PostreSQL, MySQL)
' Performance Tuning and development
' ETL tools and integration
' Quality assurance methodologies.
Typical assignments are those that require immediate, focused, and high
quality responses to issues with existing products and services.
Participate in cross-product and cross-platform development initiatives.
This person should have proven on-the-job design, development, and
delivery of systems in a complex, high-stakes environment, including
knowledge of and expertise in
' RDBMS Development and Design (Oracle, SQLServer, PosgreSQL, MySQL) '
Performance Tuning and development ' ETL tools and integration ' Quality
assurance methodologies.
The successful candidate should have between five and eight years of
application development and technical lead experience and a bachelor's
degree from an accredited academic institution, OR, without a degree,
the person should have between nine and twelve years of application
development and technical lead experience.
