Subject: An opportunity for your Students...

Hi,

I have an opportunity with a start up for a talented developer from a
good school and I thought you might know of one. I myself am a student
at BU and was hoping the University could help.

Please let me know if you know of anyone.

Team Leader/Senior Java Developer

We are looking for a smart and experienced senior software engineer to
join a group of talented engineers who are passionate about building a
great travel web site. The qualified individual will have a proven track
record delivering high quality results, while thriving in a quickly
paced environment. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of
software engineering, from design to implementation and maintenance.

In addition to being personally responsible for writing Java code in a
Linux/Mac environment (not a Windows environment), you will frequently
also be responsible for leading project teams of 1-3 developers.

Requirements:

* BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent

*         5 - 10 years of software development experience

*         JAVA

*         XML

*         HTML

*         Linux/UNIX

*         Web 2.0 Experience

* Organized, self-motivated and detail oriented

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Web 2.0 applications developed using standard Java(tm) Platform,
Enterprise Edition 5 (Java EE)-based approaches face serious performance
and scalability problems. The reason is that many principles that
underlie the Java EE platform's design - especially, the use of
synchronous APIs - don't apply to the requirements of Web 2.0 solutions.
This article explains the disparity between the Java EE and Web 2.0
approaches, explores the benefits of asynchronous designs, and evaluates
some solutions for developing asynchronous Web applications with the
Java platform.
