NOKIA User Interface Design Co-op / Internship positions Burlington, MA
(Summer/ Fall 08)

 

As a User Interface Co-op you will have the opportunity to work with a
team of designers supporting multiple software development organizations
within Nokia R&D. These applications represent the latest in cutting
edge design to further Nokia's expansion in mobile internet, email,
messaging, social networking and enterprise applications for business
and personal users. You will learn to develop rich, interactive
applications that will be utilized by millions of users globally.  

 

The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for design and enthusiasm
to create applications enjoyed by all levels of users and experiences.
Our design manages the full product development life cycle considering
optimal user experience and information architecture principles. 

 

Requirements: 

*         Must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in human
computer interaction or a related field. 

*         Ability to define & document end-to-end user experience,
including user workflows, application layout, design of specific UI
screens and components.

*         Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team and
produce quick concept designs & prototypes. Flexibility to iterate
frequently, with a passion & drive towards building world-class
solutions and applications.

*         Must be a highly collaborative team player who will thrive in
a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. Our team is friendly,
professional, and passionate about everything we do!

*         Ability to brainstorm well with other designers and give and
take constructive feedback.

*         Ability to influence others to support decisions. Comfortable
working with engineering to implement designs and work around
software/hardware limitations. 

*         Strong visual design sense and graphical/illustration skills,
along with prototyping skills on interactive visualization technologies
such as Adobe Suite, Flash, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, etc. Solid analytical
thinker with excellent communication skills.
